They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Jeff Waldorff has quite the eye. For the past 17 years, Waldorff, 62, has been capturing the natural scenery of northwest Florida with his photography. From sea turtle hatchlings emerging from their nests to the stillness of cypress trees in a swamp, there is no shortage of things to see and photograph in northwest Florida. Born and raised along the Emerald Coast, Waldorff spent most of his childhood and adolescence exploring northwest Florida’s fl ora and fauna. “I was always the nature boy,” Waldorff said. “I’ve always loved getting out into nature with my dad. We would always go camping up Choctawhatchee River.” Waldorff would sometimes use a camera when he was younger to take photos of nature. While he enjoyed it, his focus turned to other things once he got older and began a life of his own.
